Many believe allergy can be best treated at home and this belief has some concrete evidences to prove itself too.

Following are some of the popular and effective home remedies for allergy.

Castor Oil:

An Indian physician named Dr. Hemant Pathak discovered an effective home remedy for allergy. He found that five drops of castor oil in half a cup of any fruit or vegetable juice, or plain water, and taken on an empty stomach in the morning, is beneficial for allergies of the intestinal track, nasal passages, and skin.

Bananas:

For those who are allergic to certain foods and consequently suffer from asthma, digestive disorders, or skin rashes, one or two banana(s) a day are a proven home remedy for allergy. Some certain sensitive individuals, however, are allergic to some fruits which may or may not include bananas. This home remedy should not be followed by all such individuals.

Dietary Considerations:

Strengthening overall physical resistance is the best way to overcome or prevent allergies so as not to fall an easy prey to every allergen that you come across with.

Following is step-by-step home remedy for allergy with regard to dietary considerations:

  1. Initially, allergy sufferers should fast on fresh fruit juices for 4 or 5 days. Once the patients do it on a consistent basis, they will be able to show better tolerance to previous allergies.

  2. After the 4 or 5 days of juice fasting, the allergy patients can start taking diet consisted of fruits or vegetables such as apples, grapes, or carrots for one week.

  3. After the week, one more food may be added to the diet.

  4. After the week, another food may be added to the diet and so on.

  5. Protein foods can be included in the diet one at a time after four weeks.

If the patient notices an allergic reaction due to a newly included food in the diet, he/she should discontinue the food and try a new one.
